Wild Things Gifts
Press & product copy
Skills employed: Press release writing · Blog & SEO content · Email copywriting
Key wins
Copy run almost word for word
Trade press releases printed near-verbatim as full-page features in two leading UK gift trade titles.
Self-initiated coverage
Wrote and sent a release with no editorial brief behind it, which Gifts Today picked up and ran online.
One consistent voice, three marketing channels
Press, blog and email all written to hold the same brand tone.
Three strands of copy for Wild Things Gifts: press and trade coverage, ongoing blog writing, and email marketing, each written for a different stage of the customer and stockist journey.
Press & trade coverage
I wrote these trade press pieces to editorial guidelines set by each publication, covering Wild Things' growth story and seasonal collections – new product launches, a growing team (including my own arrival as Marketing Manager), and a move to larger premises. Progressive Gifts & Home and Gifts Today, two leading UK gift trade titles, ran the copy almost word for word: a full-page Q&A-style feature with founder Jules Vahrman, a full-page product and collections round-up, and a supplier contribution – quoted directly – for a pet-themed gifting feature.
Separately, I wrote and sent a self-initiated press release announcing new appointments to the Wild Things sales team, which Gifts Today picked up and ran online: Wild Things strengthens its sales team.
Blog writing

Objective: clear stock ahead of a warehouse expansion, whilst communicating the sale as a growth story rather than a pure discount promotion, with a secondary objective of encouraging award votes

Objective: promote pet-themed collections ahead of Pet Month and Easter replenishment orders, while building goodwill with an awards vote ask
Call to action: view the collection and vote for us
A stockist-facing seasonal email combining new product news (pet and spring collections, ready to ship for 2026) with a soft-sell ask: supporting a Gift of the Year People's Choice vote after a shortlisting earlier in the year.
Subject: A Glimmer of Spring / April Pet Month / Gift of the Year
It's Pet Month in April so to help you get ahead and select something fresh and adorable for your range, we've collated our favourite pet motifs across every collection.
Our bestselling puppies in love, cats on the moon and sitting cat motifs sit cosily alongside our contemporary dachshund and kitty on the moon designs, both new and ready to ship for 2026.
We've also collated a collection of Spring motifs that are perfect for those last-minute replenishment orders in the run-up to Easter, including our carded products that make excellent gift or souvenir pick-ups for holidaymakers.
Before you head off to explore our collections, we would appreciate your support ... our Pretty Little Birds were shortlisted for a Gift of the Year award in the Affordable Gifts category earlier this year. Whilst we didn't make the finalist list (this time around!), we would be grateful if you could take a minute to vote for us in the People's Choice Award.
Objective: round up a busy period of news – website launch, new product ranges, a rare price increase – in one email without burying any of it
Call to action: discover new 2026 designs
A broader company-update email covering three pieces of news at once: a new website, new product ranges launched at Spring Fair, and a price increase on a small number of lines – shown here for variety, alongside the more single-purpose sale and seasonal emails above.
Subject: Wild Things News - New Prices / New Website / New Designs
The past couple of months have been exceptionally busy at Wild Things which makes for a lot of news to share!
At the beginning of December we launched our new website with improved functionality and navigation which is helping customers find what they need and order faster. At Spring Fair, we launched our new range of Guardian Angel and Pretty Little Pins with colourful backing cards and bamboo display stands (which went down a treat!), shepherd hook bookmarks and brand new Crystal Dreams and Crystal Fantasies designs. The show was buzzing with interest in our fresh offerings for 2026.
As we move further into the new year, Wild Things is proud to keep bringing you thoughtfully designed glittering gifts your customers love, at prices that still feel like excellent value. We are pleased to share that for 2026, over 70% of our prices are staying the same.
Reluctantly, we are having to increase the price of ten lines from 1st March 2026, including our Pretty Little Birds, Crystal Fantasies and Crystal Dreams collections. Stock up before 1st March to take advantage of current prices.
